Heidi is a classic children’s novel by Johanna Spyri about a young orphan sent to live with her reclusive grandfather in the Swiss Alps. Through her cheerful nature, she softens his heart and falls in love with the mountains, though her life is later disrupted by a forced move to the city.
Les Misérables is an epic tale of redemption, love, and revolution in 19th-century France. It follows ex-convict Jean Valjean who, after an act of profound mercy by a bishop, breaks his parole to start a new life. He is relentlessly pursued by the lawful Inspector Javert while striving to protect a young girl named Cosette.
